THE RULES
• The purchase of a raffle ticket is evidence of the player’s agreement with, and willingness to conform to, all rules as described below.
• The “Queen of Hearts” raffle is a progressive raffle.
• 54 playing cards including two jokers are placed face down on a mounting board purchased from a certified gaming vendor; the cards are numbered 1 through 54 and are sealed to the board. Once a card is selected, it will be turned over with the card face-up on the board. If the Queen of Hearts is not selected the game will rollover to the next week. After the drawing, all tickets for that week’s drawing will be destroyed. You must re-enter for each drawing.
• Only 1 ticket is drawn every other week. The 2nd and 4th Tuesday nights at 6PM at Old Jugs, 200 N Main St, Elizabeth, IL .
• Drawings are not held on major holidays; if this happens the drawing will be held on the next Tuesday following the holiday.
• Tickets are available for a minimum of 6 tickets for $5. Only cash will be accepted to purchase the tickets. There is no maximum number of tickets that you can purchase.
• Tickets will be sold at Old Jugs from 4-6 PM every Fri, Mon, and Tue.
• All winners must be at least 21 years old.
• If the winner is present at the time of the drawing the winner receives 60% of the total prize money collected. If the winner is not present at the time of the drawing the winner receives 40% of the total prize money collected. The winner’s name will be announced 3 times. If the winning player doesn’t report to the Chairman within 5 minutes of the announcement the player forfeits the 60% winnings and will only receive 40% of the winnings.
• There will also be a consolation prize of $100 cash if the other Queens or either Joker is drawn.
• There can only be 1 name per ticket and it must be your legal name that matches your legal ID with picture (driver’s license or passport), your phone number, and the number of the card on the board that you are choosing. A list of available numbers will be listed when you buy your tickets. If the tickets is not filled out completely and correctly and the handwriting is not legible, the ticket will be invalid and discarded and a new ticket will be drawn.
• The total prize pool amount will continue to accumulate weekly until the Queen of Hearts is drawn. The jackpot amount, based on ticket sales, will be updated and displayed at Old Jugs as well as the Energize Elizabeth Facebook and Instagram page. The cap for this raffle is $500,000. If the prize money is more than $500,000, that amount will automatically go to the next new raffle.
• If a prize greater than $5,000 is awarded, the winner will need to confirm their identity and social security number by completing and signing an IRS Form W-2G.
• The Chairman is the only person not eligible to win the raffle.
• Only persons holding a US Social Security Card may win any amount greater than $599. All persons winning at least $600 at one drawing must comply with IRS income tax reporting and complete IRS Form W2-G before winnings are paid.
