The ninth edition of Queen Charlotte Fillies' Stakes returns to form a wonderful evening of summer racing. With £100,000 prize money, this is one of Europe’s most valuable Listed races and is the feature of a whopping £185,000 racecard. Chelmsford City’s most prestigious race has previously been won by superstar fillies including 1000 Guineas winner Billesdon Brook and multi-Group 1 globetrotting heroine Highfield Princess as well as representatives from leading owners Godolpin and Cheveley Park Stud. The increasingly distinguished contest over seven furlong races celebrates the heritage of horse racing in Essex, having been named in honour of Queen Charlotte who’s namesake race, the Queen’s Plate, was staged at the former Chelmsford Racecourse in Galleywood.
Supporting local children with autism, and as part of our ’10 Years of Community’ we are offering families affected by autism complimentary tickets to enjoy a day at the races in a safe environment.
Partnering with POP Essex, a fantastic local charity who provide ‘SEND’ stay & play and respite sessions for families, our exclusive autism friendly play zone includes areas with sensory activities, soft play, and private garden to watch the racing.
