About this Event
Join us on this summit to sea walk around Kilve and the Quantock Hills. We will start in the quaint village of East Quantoxhead and head over rolling fields until we reach the edge of the Qunatocks Hills. We will climb up the beautiful heathland, past wild ponies and deer until we reach Beacon Hill trig point where we will be rewarded with views all across Exmoor and the Bristol Channel over to Wales. We will then descend down via Herridge Combe surrounded by tall beautiful trees and walk over fields to reach the coast path. We will follow the coast path to Kilve beach where we can spend a bit of time fossil hunting before walking back inland to the car park.

Time: ~6 hours
Ascent: 376m
Grade: Intermediate (find out more about our grades here)

Who will be your guide?
Hi I'm Alice, founder and CEO of The Adventure Girls Club. I'm passionate about reconnecting women back nature through adventure and outdoor skills. I set up the club because I didn't feel like I belonged in the outdoor community and I wanted to create a safe space for women like me to head out and enjoy the outdoors in their own way. I love meeting all the lush people who come along to our events and it's best feeling seeing everyone come away feeling more connected to nature and making connections with other like-minded women too.
Transport:
By Car: We will meet at East Quantoxhead Car Park which runs by donation of £1.50 so please bring some change if you can.
By public transport: Unfortunately this hike is only accessible by car - however there are bus services along the A36 where you can walk to the start point.
Liftshare: It would be great to liftshare as much as possible, if you need a lift or can offer someone a lift please post in the lift share WhatsApp group here.
What to bring:
- Hiking boots (the hike can be very wet and boggy so I'd recommend ankle high boots)
- Plenty of snacks and a packed lunch
- Water (at least 1 litre)
- Waterproofs / warm layer
- Gloves / Hat
- Small first aid kit with personal Medic*tion
- A day rucksack to put water, lunch and layers in.
Consent Form:
If you are booked onto the hike please fill in one of these forms no later than the night before. You will not be allowed to partake in the hike unless you have filled out this form. I will send out a reminder 2 days before the event.
Toilets:
There are no toilets on this hike so you will have to embrace what I like to call a 'wild wee'! If you need to go, just tell someone in the group and hang back for some privacy.
Safety:
I like to make these hikes as enjoyable as possible for everyone, so I keep a slow and steady pace. It's about taking in the views and being in nature, not about rushing to the finish line. Having said that, you are responsible for your own health and safety. If you are unsure as to whether you are fit to come on these hikes, please either consult your doctor or let me know your concerns.
I am a Qualified Mountain Leader and I am level 3 Outdoor First Aid trained so I will be on hand in case of an emergency.
Dogs:
Well behaved dogs are allowed on my walks, however I cannot guarantee that all stiles are dog friendly. Dogs will need to go on leads when walking through livestock or near roads.
Refund Policy
Refunds will only be given if the event is cancelled. If you can no longer attend you are more than welcome to sell your ticket to someone else but please let me know if you do so.
