About this Event
The one day Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) is based on the HSE training standard for delivery of Emergency First Aid at Work for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, and is recognised and accepted by the HSE.
Qualification Summary
The aim of the , or EFAW, is to enable learners to attain the knowledge and competencies needed to deal with the more common (and serious) emergency first aid situations. Learns should be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt and effective emergency first aid in situations with an understanding of the role of the first aider.
Who Should Take This Qualification ?
You should take this qualification if you are required to complete a qualification for the purpose of the Health and Safety (First-Aid) regulations 1981. This may mean that you have assessed your working environment and decided that you need one (or more) Emergency First Aid at Work qualified persons on site.
This course is also suitable for those who wish to complete a one day first aid course, but not necessarily for work purposes. This offers the flexibility of providing first aid training, but with the option of for-filing the role of Emergency First Aid at Work should the need arise in the future.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites to attend the Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF)
You will be required to complete practical activities & assessments during the Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF). Learners should be physically capable of performing this tasks, which may include bending, kneeling and lying on the floor. If you qualification or course includes a CPR assessment, this will be required to be completed on the floor and may last for a minimum of 2 mins.
Learners do not need good literacy skills to complete the Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF), but there will be a multiple choice paper at the end of the course. Should anyone experience difficulties with this style of assessment this can be completed verbally in certain circumstances. Please contact us for further details. We would strongly recommend that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training.
What Will I Learn ?
During the Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) you will complete one unit.
This will teach you to deal with emergency situations in the work place, such as performing CPR or dealing with someone who is choking. You will also learn how to be a good first aider, and how to deal with a first aid situation.
