QTBIPOC Pickleball PDX at Jumbo's
Are you curious about pickleball? Or are you a seasoned player looking for more community? Whether you're entirely new or a pro, we invite you to join us at Jumbo's for another QTBIPOC Pickleball PDX event!
Come play in a friendly, inclusive space where you can:
- Learn the basic rules of pickleball
- Play casually or competitively with friends
- Connect with other amazing folks in the community
This event is created to make pickleball more accessible to queer and trans Black and Indigenous people and people of color, including (but not limited to) those who are Asian, Hispanic, Latinx, and SWANA, mixed race, or adopted.
Please note: This is an affinity event intentionally created to hold space for our community—specifically for those who identify as Queer, Trans, and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (QTBIPOC). For people who are both LGBTQIA2S+/BIPOC.
While we deeply value and appreciate our allies and partners, this space is intentionally created by and for us. We ask that this space remains for those who identify as QTBIPOC.
Sliding Scale Pricing (Pay What You Can)
We never want cost to be a barrier playing and participating. Please choose the pricing tier that best fits you:
-No cost: For those who support dependents, have little to no expendable income, are unemployed or have difficulty meeting basic needs.
-Accessible Pricing ($10): For people who are experiencing financial stress or limited savings, can sometimes meet basic needs but not always.
-Average Pricing ($20): For those with some savings and expendable income, can afford basic needs plus recreational/leisure activities
-Stretch Pricing ($40): For people who can help contribute to other's participation. Financially stable and able to aid the broader community.
Paddles and balls will be available. Please bring your own water bottle.
QTBIPOC Pickleball PDX organizers are committed to providing space for our community.
100% of profits go to directly to:
- Court rental and fees
- Equipment and supplies
