QSSSA: The Essential Method for Structuring Conversations in All Classrooms
Do you want to see your students talking more about their learning? Do you want your students to build confidence and academic language? Do you want to see your emergent bilingual students make progress as they grow their proficiency in the target language? QSSSA is the tool you need. It is an invaluable instructional method for all K-12 teachers who are looking for great ways to engage all students in academic conversations.
In this workshop, Dr. Lara and Dr. Fleenor model and explain QSSSA as an instructional method that can be used in every single lesson, at multiple times, in multiple ways. Furthermore, this workshop teaches how to plan effective structured conversations, how to scaffold and differentiate questioning, and how to build a culture of inclusion and equity.
In this workshop, participants will:
•Experience QSSSA as a student and as an educator
•Practice facilitating structured conversations using QSSSA
•Plan out structured conversations with open-ended, differentiated questions and scaffolds
•Engage with a variety of strategies to facilitate deep, structured conversations in the classroom
Who should attend:
