Qoya is a women's embodiment practice based on the idea that through movement, we remember. We remember that our essence is like nature - wise, wild, and free. Wise, Wild, and Free also describe the movement forms we explore in class.
Wise: calling on the wisdom of yoga, meditation, ritual, and contemplation.
Wild: celebrating the creative and authentic expression in dance
Free: the freedom to feel pleasure in the body through feminine or sensual movement by finding and following what feels nourishing to you.
Qoya is also based on the idea that there is no way you can do it wrong. If it feels good to you, that's how you know you are doing it right. It’s a physical movement practice that allows us to shift to get out of our heads and back into our bodies, and we do this by tuning into the physical sensations and the feeling in the body.
The overarcing theme we will be dancing with for this Fall series is: The Journey Home.
Come to all three classes for a total experience, or drop in to a single class. The dates and themes are below:
October 24: Simple Surrender
November 21: Softening Into Presence
December 19: Becoming
This Qoya series takes us on a somatic journey from our heads down into our hearts, as we practice what it feels like to surrender, to soften into presence, and embrace who we are becoming. Each class has a theme mixed with rituals, nervous system support, community sharing, and a guided journey back into the body with epic music. We have so much fun moving, sweating, stretching, and sharing in the joy of community with other women.

What to wear/bring:
Yoga mat
Something you feel good and comfortable to move in; layers
Journal and pen (optional)
Water bottle
Optional pillow or blanket or eye mask
A sacred item that you feel called to bring ie. stone, crystal, necklace etc. (optional to place on the altar to be infused with the energies of the dance)
