About this Event
What is Qigong?
Qigong is a combination of "Qi" (life-force, bioenergy, creativity, consciousness) and "gong" (cultivation or practice over time).
It is a self-initiated health and wellness practice consisting of a combination of movement, meditation, and breathing.
Benefits of Qigong practice include optimizing the delivery of oxygen and nutrition to the tissues, increasing the efficiency of cellular metabolism, altering neurochemistry towards healing, managing pain and mood, reducing heart rate and blood pressure, facilitating relaxation and mental focus, and the expansion of consciousness.
Practicing Qigong helps with:
- stress reduction
- prevention and support of illness or chronic conditions
- healthy and active aging
- longevity, vitality and wellbeing
Qigong formed the early root of Chinese medicine and is still considered an integral part of modern Chinese Medicine- along with acupuncture and herbal medicine.
Please arrive before 10 am for a prompt start time!
