Qigong (also spelled Ch’i Kung) is an ancient Chinese practice with many benefits and joys. One can improve focus, balance, strength, stamina, and general well being. Our classes awaken awareness of energies within and beyond our body. Our classes comprise the physical, spiritual and martial aspects of these practices.
Qigong is a powerful system of healing and energy medicine from China. It is the art and science of using breathing techniques, gentle movement, and meditation to cleanse, strengthen, and circulate the life energy (qi). Qigong practice leads to better health and vitality and a tranquil state of mind.
Qigong means the skill of cultivating the vital breath or life energy. It is the ancient Chinese art and science of becoming aware of this life energy and learning how to control its flow through a precise choreography of posture, movement, respiratory technique, and meditation. Like biofeedback, qigong teaches psychophysiological self-regulation; the student becomes aware of bodily functions such as blood pressure, respiratory rate, even the flow of nutritional energy to internal organs and learns to restore a healthier balance.
Bobbi Esmark has studied and practiced Taiji and Qigong for 30 years.She began teaching in 2007.
