My name is Janet Jasper, I am a Certified Practice Group Leader through Spring Forest Qigong and I am excited to introduce the practise of Qigong to You! There are several forms of Qigong that one can learn, some more aggressive than others. Spring Forest Qigong was founded and created by Master Chunyi Lin with movements that are gentle and simple but highly effective that anyone of any age can do. These movements can be done standing, sitting or lying down.
"Qigong ..pronounced "chee-gong... is a Chinese energy healing/balancing technique.
Qigong principles form the basis of all Chinese medicine. The concept is that all Qi is intended to flow smoothly and continuously: to be in harmony and balance with the universe. Qi.. means energy, air, breath, vitality, Universal force of life
Gong.. means work, use, practice, transfer, cultivate, refine, Qigong is a practice of learning how energy works in your body, balancing energy and cultivating energy, so you can heal yourself physically, emotionally and spiritually. Its a science. It's the study of the flow of energy in our body and in nature.
When Qi flows smoothly in the body, life is good and you are physically and mentally healthy. When the flow of Qi is interrupted, energy blockages form and can lead to physical or mental health problems.
Qigong practice combines movements and postures of the body, breathing techniques and meditation to activate and cultivate this vital energy called qi.
