We are located on the backside of Waterstreet Studios building. To park, drive past the new Warehouse 55 on 1st Street. You'll see a drive on your right. We're about halfway down the parking lot. Go up the outdoor staircase. Come early or stay after for a mocktail and some conversation.
Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is an ancient practice based in meditation, mindful breathing, and gentle movements to move and to connect to a boundless flow of harmonious vitality ~ qi (life energy). It’s often described as both a moving meditation and an energy cultivation art.
Good energy circulation manifests as vibrant health as opposed to stagnant or deficient energy. So the main goal of Qigong is to nourish and tonify the life-force energy and encourage smooth circulation of it throughout the body.
We are all swimming in an ocean of energy, but like ‘a fish in water’ we are not aware of it. Qigong practice helps us to become aware of the vital force within and without.
Core Elements of Qigong
• Movement – Slow, flowing, often circular or wave-like motions designed to open the joints, stretch muscles, and enhance energy flow.
• Breath – Deep, rhythmic breathing that coordinates with movement to calm the nervous system and energize the body.
• Mindfulness / Intention – A meditative focus on sensation, posture, and internal energy pathways (meridians).
