About this Event
In the Classroom:
● How and why roads are changing to accommodate active travel, such as walking and cycling
● Who vulnerable road users are, and how they interact with traffic
● How to share the road safely
● Use and limitations of supplementary vehicle safety equipment and how to maintain its effectiveness
On the road (cycling)
● Demonstrate control of a bike
● Demonstrate where to ride on the road and the use and limitations of cycle infrastructure
● Tackle challenging roads and traffic situations
● Demonstrate how and when to pass queuing traffic
● Identify and react to hazardous road surfaces
*****In light of the current COVID - 19 we would like to ensure you, we are following government guidelines to ensure everyone's safety whilst on site. We will provide face masks and gloves for all delegates. During this time we will not be offering lunch so ask for delegates to bring their own. Water/Tea/Coffee are available. We would also like each delegate to bring their own pen to take notes from the course. Please can we stress that you should not attend this training, should you (or anyone you live with / have close contact with) be experiencing a high temperature; a new, continuous cough; or a loss of smell or taste. We will take your temperature with a non contact infrared body thermometer before the course commences, should your temperature be high you will be turned away.
