Redland Art Gallery is excited to offer QAGOMA’s 'Express Yourself: Art Activity Pop Up' by Vipoo Srivilasa at both galleries during January school holidays, exploring emotion through drawing, collage and more. (Please note, that there are different activities at each gallery)Families and children can experience a range of exciting FREE hands-on art-making activities.
This free program will coincide with artist Vipoo Srivilasa’s current QAGOMA Children’s Art Centre exhibition, ‘Express Yourself’, and offers Queensland communities the chance to enjoy key elements of the exhibition in their local space.
This exciting project invites visitors to explore emotions through different activities such as dancing, drawing and digital media to create works that express thoughts, ideas and feeling.
Vipoo likes to make work that is beautiful, fun and adds a smile to people’s faces. He often incorporates flowers and imaginary characters in his practice. Positivity, beauty and accessibility are important elements of his work, and he is particularly known for creating ceramic characters covered in flowers, called ‘flower bears’.
This exhibition-inspired art activity encourages visitors to consider the spectrum of human emotion with curiosity and an open mind.
Vipoo Srivilasa’s ‘Express Yourself: Art Activity Pop Up’ is a free QAGOMA Touring program available to regional Queensland communities.
NOTE: The activities at The Mezz, RPAC will close at 11.30am on Tue 20 Jan due to staff training.
