About this Event
Caregivers can experience the Art of Healing through broken pottery as part of Q2 Caregiver Respite, while their youths enjoy a fun clay workshop with Salt & Light volunteers. More details below:
The Art of Healing by
Kintsugi is Japan's ancient art of celebrating broken pottery and a reminder to stay hopeful when things break down, an opportunity to embrace life’s shortcomings. Caregivers can slow down and foster a sense of peace as they repair and reattach the areas of breakage and treasure what’s broken and not discarded.
Clay workshop by
Get creative and make your own Pokemon clay figurine, members can practice their fine and gross motor skills. Youths will be accompanied by Salt & Light volunteers while caregivers enjoy their respite. Refreshments will be provided.
IMPORTANT
- Only one bowl for one caregiver for the Kintsugi workshop. (Caregiver can be parent/sibling/helper).
- Only one clay figurine per member for Clay workshop.
- Light refreshments will be provided for members and caregivers.
- Members can only be accompanied by 1 caregiver except for members who require 2 caregivers’ assistance.
