Q-Hall Takes Over Kimmel Arena: UNC Asheville Women’s Basketball

Join Q-Hall + Queer Hoops AVL on Monday, Devember 30th for an afternoon of basketball, community, and connection as UNC Asheville Women’s Basketball takes on Brevard College. This is more than just a game—it’s a celebration of women’s sports and queer culture, with a special focus on the lesbian, queer women, and sapphic community. Whether you’re here to cheer, make new friends, or learn more about basketball, this event is for YOU!

What to Expect:

Friend Zone vs. Flirt Zone: Choose your vibe at check-in! The Friend Zone is perfect for platonic connections, while the Flirt Zone is all about meeting and mingling romantically. Colored stickers keep things fun and easy.
Musical Chairs for Mingling: Join us at halftime for a playful game of musical chairs, featuring fun prompts to spark conversations and laughs.
Basketball Buddies: New to the game? No problem! We’ll pair basketball fans with newbies so everyone can enjoy the action and learn something new.
Queer Vibes and Community Energy: Open to everyone—young, old, single, partnered, or otherwise—this is your space to celebrate women’s sports and connect with the sapphic and dyke-adjacent community (e.g., a woman, non-binary, AFAB, intersex, trans, or gender-diverse person who is bi, pan, queer, gay, or lesbian) and allies who love celebrating queer culture and women’s sports.
