Pygmalion is a five-act play that explores themes of social classes, identity, the purpose of (and the some times unexpected response to)... language. The play is about a phonetics professor- Henry Higgins- who has made a bet with his friend Col.Pickering that he can transform a Cockney flower seller - Eliza Doolittle - into a refined Lady in 6 months so she can pass as a Duchess in High Society. Eliza undergoes a grueling training in the process but is eventually successful.... but there is a unexpected conclusion to the story.
