In this series of virtual workshops, emerging playwrights and INKubator alums Alyssa Haddad and Catherine Weingarten will put the “play” back in playwriting and give attendees the creativity, silly, energizing artistic boost necessary to create theatrical work during this difficult time.
Free, advance registration is required to receive the Zoom link. Suggested donation $5. Registration will open on Jan. 15.
Thursday, February 11 at 7pm EST | Galentine's Day with Alyssa & Catherine
Thursday, March 11 at 7pm EST | Sitcom Writing in Play Format with Alyssa
Thursday, March 18 at 7pm EST | Snacks with Catherine
Thursday, April 8 at 7pm EST | Reality TV with Alyssa
Thursday, April 15 | Fun and the Writing Process with Catherine
As artists, they are both drawn to the idea of making theater more accessible and fun, and embracing comedy as an art form that is just as valid as drama. Audiences deserve to be entertained and to have a good time. To shake off the dust of seriousness, Haddad and Weingarten will lead workshops on specific lively topics, such as dessert and the 2000s.
