Purse Power

The United Way of Gaston County annually holds Purse Power, a community fundraiser in Gaston County that serves as a Women United’s signature event. Purse Power is a fabulous ladies night out with a purpose! The event will feature designer purses, a live raffle, and a silent auction.

All event proceeds will support Dolly Parton's Imagination Library (DPIL) and Early Childhood Literacy initiatives. United Way of Gaston County has been the DPIL affiliate since 2004. United Way of Gaston County has partnered with DPIL to place an age-appropriate book in the homes of Gaston County children from birth to age 5. They currently support more than 1,800 children - providing one book a month for five consecutive years. Their goal is to keep the more than 1,800 children currently enrolled in the program and further expand their reach to assist more families with literacy needs.
