Every year during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, in October, there is a national event known as Purple Thursday. On this day, shelter programs across the country look to their communities to provide all the major items regularly used in shelters.This years event is on Thursday, October 23, and Hope House will be taking supply donations from 7am-3pm at our offices, located at 720 Ash Street in Baraboo.
If you bring donation at lunchtime you get the bonus of a free lunch, courtesy of the Baraboo Elks Lodge 688. They will be grilling up hamburgers, cheeseburgers and hotdogs for all supporters that day (while supplies last) from 11am-1pm.
Requested donation items include: toilet paper, kleenex, tampons, hand soap, laundry detergent, dishwasher soap, trash bags, body wash and many more household items. You can see a full list of needs at www.hopehousescw.org/upcoming-events.html
