About this Event
Each year in recent memory, migrating purple martins have congregated downtown in late summer as they begin to make the long treck back to the Southern Amazon. While they are present for much of the spring and summer in smaller numbers, martins from all over the country come to Nashville to gather in groups before heading further south. Be prepared to see tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of beautiful purple martins soaring all around you.
This year, they have decided to break from their recent nesting spot and are nesting in trees next to Nissan Stadium. We will meet together simply watch the event unfold during sunset. Pictures and videos truely do not do it justice.
All ages are welcome!
Please note that exact location and timing are subject to change depending on weather and the bird's behavior. We will be sending a final email to registered attendees several days before the event with an exact meeting spot. If the event of inclinent weather, the event will be rescheduled.
