On October 6th, Downtown Renton will shine purple for the Purple Lights Night Walk. Gather at 5:30pm to pick up glow swag, then join us for a 45-minute community walk past glowing storefronts and survivor silhouettes. Afterward, enjoy refreshments at City Hall, hear empowering words from DAWNRising, and witness the Mayor’s proclamation recognizing this important cause. This free event celebrates unity, resilience, and hope — register today to be part of it.

Walk Starting Point
Info: At 5:30pm we will gather at the meeting location. DAWNRising will speak a few words about the walk and volunteers will hand out SWAG (purple glow sticks, etc.) for the walk. We will then aim to take about a 45 minute walk through Downtown Renton passing by businesses with purple lights and silhouettes that honor survivors of DV.

Landing Reception: City Hall
Info: Land at City Hall around 6:30pm, in the Council Chamber for light snacks and beverages. DAWNRising will then speak about the significance of this event, share resources and acknowledge partnering organizations.

Proclamation Read
Info: At 7:00pm, The Proclamation will then be read by the Mayor and received by Gina, the ED at Dawn Rising. The event will conclude after the proclamation is read and received. We will conclude the event and encourage individuals to patronize the local businesses in the area.
