Join us in celebrating Black History Month with a free production about the Lowcountry's own, Septima Clark. Charleston's PURE Theatre bring the story of this amazing educator and civil rights activist/leader to life on the Hampton St. Auditorium stage at the Colleton Civic Center, Thursday, February 27th at 6. Septima is a dynamic and moving play celebrating the life and work of Civil Rights leader and educator Septima P. Clark. Told through monologues, stories, and music, the play honors the moments of Septima’s life that shaped her into one of the most important figures in American history and inspired Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to call her the “Mother of the Movement.”
