Just in time for the cold weather and Valentine's Day - an intimate music event like no other in Dayton - Pure Acoustic. Three amazing bands - The 1984 Draft, The Boxcar Suite, and DipSpit - all playing together, trading songs, with zero amplification! That's right, No Mics, No Amps - just the power of their voices and instruments. Needless to say, this will be a listening show, and you will hear their music in a whole new way. Note also, this is an early show - doors open at 7pm and music starts at 8pm - and since the bands are trading songs, there will be no waiting to see your favorites!A little about the bands -
The 1984 Draft channels American rock sensibilities through a ‘90s-tinted punk and indie lens. They were part of the very first Pure Acoustic in 2016.
The Boxcar Suite - Rock band, bad dudes, up to no good... Nothing could be further from the truth, lol. They were part of the second Pure Acoustic.
DipSpit - I don't even know how to describe this band except to say they have some great beats, will make you laugh, and will make you dance. As far as I know this is their first acoustic show and it will definitely be memorable.
What does Pure Acoustic even mean? These normally electric bands will be performing without mics or amps or a PA - just the power of their voices and instruments. Think of it as them playing around a campfire, you will hear their music presented in new and exciting ways. The format is the bands take turns performing in rounds, doing two songs at a time, so there will be no waiting between bands.
When the Pure Acoustic shows first started in 2016 we didn't realize how magical or rare they would be. The last one was held six years ago, so don't miss being part of this incredible event.
