Humane Society of the Black Hills and Cohort Craft Brewery to Co-Host Puppy Bowl CelebrationThe Humane Society of the Black Hills (HSBH), in partnership with
Cohort Craft Brewery, invites the community to a Puppy Bowl Watch Party, Adoption Event, and Fundraiser on Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 11:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. celebrating shelter pets, second chances, and one very special Puppy Bowl pup.
The event will honor Calamity Jane (CJ), a husky mix and Puppy Bowl XXII participant, who will be appearing in puppy alongside some of her shelter teammates. Guests will have the opportunity to meet CJ, learn about her journey from rescue to
national spotlight, and connect with adoptable animals currently seeking their forever homes.
Calamity Jane is currently adoptable, and the Humane Society of the Black Hills is committed to finding the best possible forever home for her. Families interested in adopting CJ will be asked to submit a short essay explaining why they would be the
best fit for her needs, lifestyle, and future. This thoughtful process is designed to ensure CJ is placed in a home where she can thrive for life.
As part of the celebration, Cohort Craft Brewery will debut a special limited-release beer can featuring Calamity Jane’s face and logo, created exclusively for the Puppy Bowl event. Guests who bring a donation to benefit the Humane Society of the Black
Hills will receive a free raffle ticket , helping support shelter animals while celebrating CJ’s big moment.
The Puppy Bowl celebration will also feature:
-A family-friendly adoption event with additional adoptable dogs on site
-A raffle fundraiser, with tickets available for $5 each or 5 for $20
-A local food truck
-The opportunity to purchase a book chronicling Calamity Jane’s life and rise from rescue to Puppy Bowl Adoptable star, with proceeds supporting shelter animals
The Puppy Bowl Watch Party and Adoption Event is open to all ages, and no admission fee is required. Proceeds from raffle ticket sales, book purchases, and donations will directly benefit the Humane Society of the Black Hills and the animals in its care.
For more information about the event, adoption opportunities, or how to submit an essay for CJ’s adoption, community members are encouraged to visit CJ’s Puppy Bowl Adoptable website: https://hsbhpuppybowl.my.canva.site or reach out directly to
