Choose TO BE part of Steel City Shakespeare Center's Puppets Dallying, a Hamlet-themed Puppet Slam.
Performed before a live audience with Hamlet himself as the Master of Ceremonies, the slam will feature live and filmed works inspired by the themes, characters, actions, or words of Shakespeare's Hamlet.

PARTICIPATE IN THE SLAM! A CALL FOR ARTISTS, local or otherwise!
Puppeteers are invited to submit live pieces or filmed pieces, with a 5 minute limit per piece.
Chose TO BE silly or chose TO BE serious - we enjoy all approaches. A health inspector in the graveyard scene? Hamlet as a modern emo teen? Rosencrantz and Guildenstern tell Hamlet what they are actually thinking? Claudius asks AITA? Gertrude gentle parents Hamlet into making better choices? Poetically puppet your way through Ophelia's drowning scene? Give us a glimpse of a long-suffering Horatio writing in his diary? Ophelia lectures Hamlet? or Laertes? or Claudius? Or anyone in the show really. Show the long awaited answer of just what Hamlet agreed to do for those pirates in exchange for bringing him home? As long as you are inspired in some way by Hamlet, you can chose to focus on characters, actions, themes, or even just the words. Whether you are a Shakespeare scholar, or just have a vague sense of Hamlet as that guy talking to a skull, we want to see your creation!
Preference will be given to live performances. Artist Honoraria in the range of $30 to $50 American will be paid to accepted pieces (amount depending on number of pieces accepted).
