Sat, Sept 20. Paddle with your pooch! This special event is one of a kind end-of-season fundraiser for our kayak centers, at Overpeck.
About this Event

Join us! This special event is an end-of-season fundraiser for our kayak centers. All proceeds will support the purchase of new kayaks for the 2026 season.

Pup-N-Paddle day is perfect for you and your pooch! Dogs of any size can go kayaking or canoeing THIS DATE ONLY! Spots will be limited, so sign up with Spot to go doggy paddling at Overpeck!


THE RULES:

  1. Only good dogs get to paddle with their humans. Pups must be on their best behavior. Misbehaving dogs, dogs that exhibit over-excitement or agressive behavior will be refused.*
  2. Reservations only, for 1.5 hour sessions. Please arrive 15 minutes before your time slot to check-in.
  3. All dogs must wear PFD’s. Please bring one that fits your fido. WE DO NOT PROVIDE DOG PFDs.
  4. YOU MUST BRING A COPY OF YOUR DOG'S UP-TO-DATE RABIES VACCINATION WITH YOU. Paper copy or photo are acceptable. Your dog will be refused without his/her papers. Tags are not acceptable proof.
  5. ALL DOGS MUST BE LEASHED AT ALL TIMES, ON LAND AND IN THE BOAT. This is park rules. Your dog must remain leashed, including in the boat. If your dog jumps out, lead swimming dog to shore.
  6. Owners are responsible for what happens if dogs jump in the water. Dogs must be capable of swimming to shore if they disem”bark” from the boat. Do not attempt to pull your dog back aboard. This can cause your kayak or canoe to flip, possible injury to you or your dog, and/or damage to gear. Our staff are NOT permitted to assist with dogs that jump out of the boat.
  7. Owners are responsible for any damages to rental gear caused by their pup.
  8. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs – in the boats, on the dock, in the park and at the kayak center.
  9. Staff reserves the right to refuse any dog (or person) who is not compliant to the above.*

Rates:

$40 for single kayak (small or medium dogs). One dog, one human.

$60 for tandem kayak (dogs any size). One dog, one human. Extra human $20.

$80 for a canoe (dogs any size). One dog, two humans.

$10 extra for a second dog. $10 for a 3rd human in a canoe.

**Sorry no SUP’s, our soft-tops can be damaged by claws.

Disclaimer: This special event is a fundraiser. If you book a time slot and arrive late or do not show there are no refunds. Refunds will only be provided to those who cancel at least 24 hours in advance, or if the event is cancelled due to inclement weather. In the event that bad weather is predicted, we will cancel the event no later than 2 hours beforehand and will notify you via the email provided. In the event of a pop-up thunderstorm, your timeslot may be delayed. If bad weather causes us to close early we will issue refunds to those whose timeslots were cancelled. PRIMARY RENTER MUST BE AN ADULT. *All dogs must be comfortable around strange people and other dogs. Any dogs (or humans!) who act aggressive or misbehave toward our staff, other people or dogs during check-in risk being refused without refund. Owners must present rabies certificate. Dogs without rabies certificate are subject to refusal without refund. Our staff reserves the right to refuse non-compliant participants or dogs from the event.
