Don’t let those Jack-o-Lanterns and Gourds go to waste. Turning them into compost while having a smashing good time! Bring your own pumpkin or gourd to smash, or drop off extra pumpkins at CCE starting November 1st in marked area next to the compost bins to the right of the market. All smashed pumpkins will be composted on site in our Community Compost bins next to the Broome County Regional Farmers Market. Date: Saturday November 9th
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Location: Broome County Regional Farmers Market on 840 Upper Front Street, Binghamton NY 13905
What to Bring:
A pumpkin or gourd to smash (optional, but encouraged!)
No outside smashing tools—tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided to ensure everyone’s safety.
What to Expect:
Fun for all ages! Please note that all children under 18 must be supervised by an adult.
Everyone will need to sign an Acknowledgement of Risk Form on the day of the event before participating in pumpkin smashing.
Composting info and live composting demonstration.
All smashed pumpkins will be composted on-site, helping to reduce waste and contribute to a greener community.
