Description:
In this class, students will be introduced to the unique craft of gourding through the creation of a simple, but beautiful pumpkin. To create your unique pumpkin we will focus on elements of design and color. After selecting your gourd, you will learn proper cleaning, sanding, and leveling techniques to prepare your “canvas”.
Different methods of color application will be explored giving you the opportunity to choose one that suits your personal taste. Some artists choose to add adornments i.e. leaves etc their pumpkins; others like a more minimalistic piece; you will decide after viewing a variety of finished pieces. We will then explore techniques for sealing your finished piece. Each participant will leave with a completed piece just in time for the Fall holidays.
