Puma Perl and Friends has been merging Puma’s poetry with rock and roll and music of all genres for over 10 years. Joff Wilson (guitar), Joe Sztabnik (bass), and Dave Donen (percussion) play both original compositions and covers behind her spoken word. Each show includes a couple of songs by Joe and Joff, and the band is often joined by other friends playing everything from sax to harp to trombone to violin. Puma and the other band members have been stalwarts of the NYC downtown scene and have performed individually and with other projects throughout the United States and Europe.SoulCake singer/songwriter/guitarist Joff Wilson leads the band; Laura Sativa brings flute and percussion to the arrangements and Sarafe is a distinctive presence on bass. SoulCake has earned a reputation for shows that are fun and full of surprises, from unannounced guests and spontaneous repertoire to new interpretations of audience favorites.
