Composer and guitarist Brandon Walker presents an evening of flamenco-infused chamber music for solo guitar, small ensembles, flute, and strings.
At its centre is Pineda, a multi-movement work inspired by the story of Mariana Pineda — the young granaína martyr whose life has inspired artistic responses for over a century, from Lorca’s play to Saguer's opera and, more recently, a flamenco ballet premiered in Granada in 2024 as part of the Lorca y Granada summer cycle.
Blending tradition and invention, Pulse & Pineda offers a bold take on contemporary guitar music and its expressive possibilities.
