Taking its name from the small, winding lane that stands opposite the Lit & Phil, the Pudding Chare Music Festival will showcase young classical musicians from the North East and further afield who are currently training at conservatoires and universities around the country, including Matthew Hayes, Cameron Walls, Alma Vink, Daphne Delfas, Daniel Liu, and Levi Collin.
Audiences can expect a diverse and exciting programme across three concerts that presents works by local composers such as William Shield, John Garth and Edgar Bainton alongside perennial favourites, to include among other items a Beethoven piano trio, Webern’s Langsamer Satz, a trio by Kapralova, and Schubert’s majestic string quintet!
Alongside the main concerts at the Lit & Phil, the festival will also include performances in schools and care homes, and a chamber music workshop with budding young musicians from the region.
