About this Event
Publishing Party™ is not a reading… and it’s not a traditional party. It's the best of both worlds and more!
It’s a creative celebration of authorship and community, designed for people who want to connect, share, and enjoy themselves. Vibe without pressure, substances, or performative hustle.
During the first half of the event, Michelee Elyse will share her real publishing journey: the wins, the challenges, and what she's working on now. You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process, upcoming projects, and what’s next on her author journey. We will also welcome another author to discuss his path to publication.
Authors and publishers are welcome here! Share your process, your work, do a brief reading, sign your books, or talk for up to 5 minutes. We also welcome anyone who has thought about publishing a book but isn’t quite sure where to start. Come ask questions, get inspiration, and see what’s possible for your own story. This is a space to celebrate authorship together and connect with fellow readers and writers.
The second half of the event shifts into community experience. Depending on the flow of the night, this may include:
- Open mic (spoken word, readings, lip syncs, and freestyle dancers welcome!)
- Guided conversation around a theme
- Creative expression and movement
- Or a full-out, high-energy, substance-free dance party vibe
This event is intentionally designed to:
- Be welcoming to people in recovery
- Provide a safe, clear-headed social space
- Protect attendees from smoke exposure and drink tampering
- Teach etiquette, consent, and “see something, say something” community care
We’re alcohol-free, smoke-free, and drug-free to keep the space safe and fun for everyone. This is about celebrating, not dictating... because joy doesn’t require substances, and everyone deserves to breathe freely.
