About this Event
The City of Roseville's Wastewater Utility handles up to 30 million gallons of water every day through more than 700 miles of sewer pipe and treats it all behind the scenes, out of sight and mind for Roseville residents, for about one dollar a day per household. In addition, 48 miles of sewer pipe are inspected each year to ensure that the system stays fully functional. This tour will give a behind-the-scenes look at some of the steps and processes that make the system so reliable and that keep the environment and Roseville residents safe – from collection and delivery to the treatment plant, through the treatment process, and to release of cleaned water to local creeks or for use as recycled water. Upon completion of the tour, participants will not only have a better understanding of the process for treating wastewater, they will be empowered with specific things they can do at home to maintain the flow of this important utility system of the city.
