Natalya Giffney, of Green Adelaide SA and Sustainable Urban Communities Officer at Green Adelaide, will provide an overview of design strategies and integrated water management practices for homes and gardens that can help you to save water and sustain urban landscapes for ecological health.
Natalya works in the Resilient Communities team for Green Adelaide and is involved in projects including SEEDS, which supports schools to be stewards for endangered flora species, in partnership with the SA Seed Conservation Centre.
She also coordinates the Green Adelaide Seminar Series program of talks, which provides a one-hour online talk each month open to community members and staff. Future topics include The Wonderful World of Weeds; The Power of Citizen Science; It’s Not Easy Being Green – keeping Adelaide’s trees healthy in an age of climate change; and Climate Justice – putting equity and human rights at the core of decision-making and action on climate change.
Natalya is an avid gardener who loves growing natives and as much food as possible. She is one of the coordinators of the Unley Repair Cafe and is on the Permaculture SA committee.
She is committed to creating learning and connecting opportunities to support people to live more sustainably. She is passionate about soil health, soil life, and the connections with health and wellbeing.
We look forward to hearing her talk which may offer help in tackling the effects of our hot, dry climate on our cities and lifestyle.
