PUBLIC SEMINAR: The Modern Self in this Strange New WorldMONDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2025 | 6:30 - 8:00PM CDT
We live in a world that often feels confusing and fragmented. Questions about identity, freedom, and meaning press on all of us—whether we are people of faith or not. How did we arrive at this cultural moment, and how can we begin to make sense of it?
Join us for "The Modern Self in this Strange New World," a public seminar hosted by the C.S. Lewis Institute Lake Charles. Pastor David Rose will draw from Carl Trueman’s influential works Strange New World and The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self to trace the ideas that have shaped our world and explore how hope and clarity can be found amidst the confusion.
This evening is open to everyone—whether you’re a committed Christian, a curious skeptic, or simply someone looking to better understand our times.
Come join the conversation. This is a free event, but we request you RSVP through the following link: https://www.cslewisinstitute.org/?event=local-event-public-seminar-on-the-modern-self-lake-charles-630-pm-cdt&event_date=2025-12-01
