Turtsiops is ready to return home and there is no better way to celebrate World Sea Turtle Day than with a Release! The release will be conducted in accordance to FWC Guidelines #Permit259.
The release will occur on June 16th, at South Beach Park starting at 3pm. No RSVP is required but we ask that everyone follow the CDC's most recent guidelines for COVID and be respectful of your space and others around you during the event.
**Rescued on April 14th by IR County Staff while on their morning sea turtle survey, this very small green turtle was transported up to the Brevard Zoo's Sea Turtle Healing Center by Coastal Connections volunteers. After 2 months of rehab, this juvenile green turtle is ready for release and we want you there to enjoy this special experience with us and to learn more about this turtle's rehabilitation story.
**This is our first public sea turtle release since the start of COVID and it would not be possible without numerous permitted sea turtle partners including the Brevard Zoo, Indian River County's Coastal Division, and the Sea Turtle Preservation Society. We are so excited to be a part of this turtle's special day.
For those who may not be able to join in person, a live video will be made available on Facebook and will be posted on CCinc's page @CoastalConnectionsinc
