The Hon Susan Close MP will outline how the government will act on its election promises to deliver better outcomes for all Rangeland users
About this Event

Following on from the Society’s Pastoral forum in 2021, the Deputy Premier of SA and Minister responsible for Climate, Environment and Water, the Honourable Dr Susan Close MP, will speak about the new South Australian Government’s approach to managing and caring for our vast rangelands – 40% of the land mass of SA.

The last state Government proposed a radically different Pastoral Act, one which would have centred almost entirely around livestock production. Many different stakeholder groups were concerned that their interests would have been marginalised and, importantly, many South Australians were concerned that their access to the Outback would be significantly limited.

The Honourable Dr Susan Close MP will outline how the current government will deliver on its election promises to deliver better outcomes for the Pastoral community, and for the broader public. She will also answer questions from the audience in a discussion facilitated by Broadcaster and RGSSA President Leigh Radford OAM.
