The next Commerce Lexington Public Policy Luncheon presented by WealthSouth on Friday, September 12, from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Lexington (401 W. High Street) will feature U.S. Senator Rand Paul, M.D., who will provide an update on happenings in Washington, as well as impacts of legislation on Kentucky and ongoing foreign policy decisions. Senator Paul is a fierce advocate against government overreach and has fought tirelessly to return government to its limited, constitutional scope. Strongly opposed to tariff policies, he is an advocate for free trade and has introduced legislation to curb presidential authority to impose tariffs without Congressional approval. During his time in the Senate, Dr. Paul has never voted for an unbalanced budget and has returned $8.3 million to the Treasury from his Senate budget. Dr. Paul serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. He attended Baylor University, graduated from Duke Medical School, and completed a general surgery internship at Georgia Baptist Medical Center. He and his family live in Bowling Green where he was a successful eye surgeon for 17 years before running for the U.S. Senate.
The cost to attend this event is $59 per person for Commerce Lexington members, $69 for non-members, and will include lunch and networking.
