PUBLIC MEETING - DEFENDING FREE SPEECH ON PALESTINEWednesday 2nd April - 6pm - QCU Building (level 2), 16 Peel Street, South Brisbane.
Supporters of Palestine on this continent are no strangers to censorship, and yet attempts to stifle Palestinian and pro-Palestine speech are escalating across all institutions and areas of public life.
We experience this in our workplaces, whether they be medical, academic, or artistic institutions to name a few. Workers all over Magan-djin have experienced some form or another of repressed speech on Palestine.
Newly introduced legislation aims to further stifle our ability to organise against a genocide that our government is a willing participant to. We will not be dissuaded or discouraged, and we are going to keep showing up to fight for a Free Palestine at every opportunity.
Palestine is workers’ business. Palestine is everyone’s business. We must continue to speak and organise freely for Palestine, and we can only achieve this through organised action.
Join us on Wednesday 2nd April, 6pm at the QCU building (level 2, 16 Peel St South Brisbane) for this public meeting aimed at addressing barriers to free speech and the fight for a Free Palestine.
Public meetings are the best way to get more involved in the local movement for Palestine and get to know other likeminded members of the community. There will be opportunities to join actions and upskill in activism and organising roles.
If you have been wanting to do more for Palestine, this is your opportunity to make a difference here in Magan-djin – Brisbane.
The QCU building has some parking off Peel St and access to the level 2 meeting room is via elevator. Bathrooms are available on level 2.
