We invite you to join Dr. Elke Loeffler, Director of Research and Strategic Partnerships, Open University, for the launch of her new co-edited book, Public Management and Governance, a textbook that has become a leading international best seller in its field.
As an Associate of INLOGOV at the University of Birmingham, Dr. Loeffler will outline how this fourth edition tackles the current challenges which confront governments and public services organisations, at both national and local levels, across the world. She highlights the changes that have taken place over the 20 years that separate this edition from the first edition in 2003, and the key controversies and academic disputes highlighted in the book.
Biography
Dr. Elke Loeffler is Director of Research and Strategic Partnerships at the Centre for Policing Research and Learning at the Open University Business School. She is also Director of Governance International (an international consulting and research company with nonprofit status in the UK) where she provides accredited co-production training programmes. Elke is an Associate of the Institute for Local Government Studies at the University of Birmingham, a Steering Group Member of the European Group of Public Administration (EGPA), a Board member of the International Research Society for Public Management (IRSPM) and the Vice-Chair for Doctoral Research at the UK Association for Public Administration (UKAPA). Previously she was a staff member of the Public Management Service (now GOV) of OECD. Elke is an editorial board member of the International Review of Administrative Sciences, Public Money and Management and der moderne staat.
