This talk will focus on the role of the “Witch” archetype in Jesse Jones’s work and how it has evolved in recent years. Taking the cue from the work of Silvia Federici and her book Caliban and the witch to more recent iterations of the more than human witch of nature in Jesse Jones’s recent work for the Singapore Biennale. The talk will explore feminism in Jones’s work as a “mythopoesis” and mode of becoming from Tremble Tremble 2017 to recent studio practice.
