About this Event
The Hawai‘i Public Health Workforce Catalyst Lab is happy to announce a set of on-the-road Public Health 101 trainings! This interactive training is open to anyone at the DOH who wants to know what is public health, anyway? Space is limited.
The first training session is at Kinau Hale on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 10:30 am - noon.
This training is designed to give people an introduction to the public health field, its evolution, its essential functions, and its wide array of activities that keep our communities safe and healthy.
In the 90-minute workshop, we will answer and discuss the following:
- What is public health?
- What are its core functions and essential services?
- Where does the DOH fit in this public health landscape?
- How do I contribute to ensuring the public’s health?
- What are existing and future public health concerns?
- Why we love public health
We hope you can join us!
