Join us Wednesday from 6:30 - 8 pm for our eleventh Public Domain Theatre program! This month's free movie is a 1940 film called His Girl Friday. Banter, romance, and breaking news—His Girl Friday is a screwball comedy masterpiece! Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell shine as a smooth-talking editor and his ace reporter (and ex-wife), caught in a whirlwind of witty one-liners and a juicy story. With rapid-fire dialogue and timeless chemistry, it’s a film that’s as sharp and funny today as it was in 1940.
💡 Fun fact: The script was so fast-paced that it doubled the number of lines spoken compared to the average film of its time.
This event is free and light concessions will be available for purchase during the show. Please stick around after the movie for a discussion with host Dennis Everette.
