Join us for an engaging public event in Brisbane focused on raising awareness of issues related to ageing well and age discrimination!
About this Event

Our goal is to explore the strengths and opportunities of ageing while also addressing barriers such as physical limitations, technological challenges, ageism, resistance to change, health concerns, and inter-generational conflict.

We've organised a dynamic format featuring two teams of four individuals who will present diverse perspectives and engage in lively debates on whether age is or isn't a barrier. Expect thought-provoking discussions infused with humour to lighten the mood while tackling serious topics.

Moderating this exciting event is none other than Robert Fitzgerald, the new Age Discrimination Commissioner. Alongside panellists including: Dr John Chesterman (Public Advocate), Noel Whittaker AM CTA (Executive in Residence and Adjunct Professor, QUT Business School),Blair Martin (Queer Radio), Wayne Sticher (Cycling Without Age), Rhonda Weston AM (President- U3A Network Queensland), Cintia Paolina (ECCQ’s Multicultural Partners Manager), Dr Theresa Scott (Senior Lecturer in Clinical Geropsychology - UQ) and Emeritus Professor Julie Byles (University of Newcastle).

Don't miss this opportunity to participate in healthy dialogue and gain valuable insights into ageing well and combating age discrimination.

This free event presented by COTA Queensland includes a light morning tea.
