About this Event
This 2-Part Program is designed to provide teens and tweens (ages 8-17) with information regarding puberty and romance. Materials and strategies will include self-care, boundaries, urges, and hormones. This series is for tweens and teens (separate groups) on the spectrum. Due to the sensitive nature of the topic parents/caregivers are encouraged to attend a preview on 2/25. This session will not be recorded.
These presentations and discussions will be led by a team CARD ASD specialists. T weens and Teens will be separated for this discussion, due to the nature of questions that differ between groups. Parents will not attend these sessions with the students. Space is limited.
T his program is appropriate for students with ASD who are able to participate in a 1.5-2 hour instructional session with a 1:10 adult to child ratio. If your child would not be safe, happy or engaged in this ratio, we encourage you to come to the parent overview to learn how you can address these topics with your child in a more supportive home environment. See registration for this event on 2/25.
Participants must attend Part I on 3/1/25 in order to attend Part II on 3/8/25. If you register for Part 1, you will be expected to attend both sessions.
Session 1 on 3/1 is 2 hours hours.
Session 2 on 3/8 is 3 hours, due to the many questions and more opportunity for discussion.
Sessions will be led by CARD ASD specialists.
