Are you interested in learning more about ADHD and how to support those with ADHD using non-pharmacological strategies? Come along to this presentation and discussion to learn about how to provide best practice ADHD supports.
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) has a worldwide prevalence of 5%. Best practice supports in the area of ADHD advocate for multi-modal support strategies including both pharmacological and non-pharmacological support strategies. This presentation will cover:
-What are the range of non-pharmacological supports available to support ADHD? This presentation will focus particularly on cognitive and/or behavioural supports.
-What is the evidence for these types of supports?
-How can practitioners use cognitive and/or behavioural supports in their practice in a neuroaffirming way.
About this event:
The format will be a 1-hour, lecture-style presentation, in an informal setting, including an opportunity for open Q&A – bring your questions!
Please note that this event will take place on level 1 of the venue and is accessible via stairs only.
Key Learning Objectives
-Understanding of the range of non-pharmacological supports available to support ADHD.
-The evidence for non-pharmacological supports including limitations and directions for further research.
-An understanding of how to use cognitive and/or behavioural supports in a neuroaffirming way.
This session is suitable for all levels of clinician / therapist.
Duration & Format / Training Modalities
This event will be approx. 60 minutes for CPD and Q&A. This event does not include any catering in the ticket price.
Doors open at 6:00pm for a 6:30pm start.

Dr Sciberras is Clinical Psychologist and has worked in the area of ADHD for over 15 years. She was awarded a Doctor of Clinical Psychology (Child Specialisation) through the University of Melbourne in 2010. Dr Sciberras is a Senior Clinical psychologist working in the Developmental Assessment and Management Program at the Alfred Infant Child and Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service. Prior to this Dr Sciberras worked in an academic position at Deakin University (2015-2023). She is an elected board member of the Australasian ADHD Professionals Association and was awarded the Deakin University Mid-Career Research Award in 2022. Emma is committed to reducing the stigma associated with ADHD and disseminating evidence-based information about the ADHD to the general community. She has published over 150 peer-reviewed publications and has attracted ~$9M in research funding).
