We are excited to invite you to a special concert and clinic featuring the extraordinary Debashish Bhattacharya Trio on November 10, 2024. This event honors our musical legacy and brings our community together in appreciation of cultural heritage and artistic evolution. Proceeds from this event will benefit the students of the Bhattacharya School of Universal Music, supporting the next generation of musicians.
ABOUT THE CONCERT
The concert opens with jazz quartet Grub Collective, featuring 4 promising young musicians from our community. They will showcase original compositions and conclude their set with a special collaboration with Anandi Bhattacharya! We couldn’t think of a better way to illustrate what is meant by Musical Legacy than to demonstrate the passing of a musical torch on stage. So come, bring your ears, and help us light up future stages in support of these young musicians and so many others they signify.
Following this, the concert features the extraordinary Debashish Bhattacharya Trio, comprised of Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya, the foremost slide guitarist; his daughter Anandi, a brilliant vocalist; and his brother Subhasis, one of the greatest percussionists of his generation, himself a celebrated composer and arranger. Together, they will perform a captivating mix of traditional and contemporary music that showcases their unmatched musical skills and creativity. Expect a mesmerizing blend of strings, voice, and tabla that highlights their deep intuitive connection and improvisational interplay as a family. This performance promises to be an emotionally satisfying musical journey that will leave you spellbound.
