In his new book Turn Your Life Into Art, published by Burning Man, Caveat says that the San Francisco underground art scene out of which Burning Man emerged developed unique techniques to create transformative experiences out of nothing but good ideas and participation - no big budgets or special effects needed. At LESPACEMAKER on Sunday, October 16 from 1pm, he and members of the Burning Man community will prove that thesis by co-creating a participatory psychomagical experience. He’ll also discuss the nature of these experiences, and how they can be created by anyone, anywhere - but why big companies and marketing firms will never be as good at it as community artists.
All are welcome! Bring a snack or drink to share for the post-event potluck.

Caveat, who has written extensively about Burning Man and co-founded Burning Man’s philosophical center with Larry Harvey and Stuart Mangrum, is also the author of The Scene That Became Cities: what Burning Man philosophy can teach us about building better communities. He’ll be available to sign both books, but no copies will be available for purchase at the event. Both books are available online, but we also encourage you to order them at local bookstores!
