Welcome to Psychedelic Social! Join us at Psanctum Thrift for a night of lectures and socializing with the legal psychedelic industry in Oregon. Want to become a guide in Oregon? Want to have a legal psychedelic experience? Curious about what is happening in Oregon? Want to learn more about how psychedelics work in the brain? This event is a great place to share insights and learn about psychedelics and the psychedelic industry. Everyone is welcome!
We will have three 20 minute lectures / Q&A sessions:
Psychedelic historian Tom Hatsis will open the night with a lecture and discussion of the rich history of Western psychedelia.
After Tom, we will have a Q&A session with someone from Synaptic Institute (TBD) to discuss becoming a guide in Oregon as well as their training program. After a short break, we'll close out with Michael Angyus, MSc talking about the neuroscience of psychedelics.
We will then have an evening of socializing, networking, and making new friends.
The event is organized and hosted by Michael Angyus, a psychedelic researcher who earned his masters in neuroscience from Imperial College London and has worked with well known psychedelic researcher Dr. Robin Carhart-Harris for the last three years. A Portland native, Michael is focusing on using his network and experience to give back to his community in a time of great opportunity for Oregon. As the first state to legalize the supervised use of magic mushrooms, we have an incredible opportunity to show the world that psychedelics can be used safely for healing.
Psanctum Thrift is a nonprofit thrift store that raises money for those who desire psilocybin-assisted therapy, but have financial barriers. Visit them at https://psanctum.org/
