ArtsMatter, PST ART, and Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County in partnership with MEND, Azusa High School, Jane Addams Elementary School, La Verne Community Center, and Compton Advocates Coalition are hosting a FREE Family Day for community members to enjoy a unique and exciting PST ART exhibition!
FREE transportation, lunch, museum access, gallery talks, and artmaking workshop are available for the whole family!

PROGRAM
9:30am - 10:00am
Families arrive, check in at the Welcome Center, and explore the museum's newest wing, the NHM Commons.
10:00am - 10:40am
Commons Theatre: Welcome, opening remarks and presentation, and Ocean Encounters performance.
10:40am - 11:30am
Explore : Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the NMH dioramas, NHM has restored and reopened a diorama hall that has been closed for decades. Families will experience immersive new installations — by artists RFX1 (Jason Chang), Joel Fernando and Yesenia Prieto (working as a three-artist team), as well as Saul Becker and Lauren Schoth — that call attention to dioramas as a unique combination of art and science and explore biodiversity, ecology, conservation, colonialism, and changing museum display techniques.

Lower Otis Booth Pavilion (OBP): Enjoy a drop-in artmaking activity that explores the behind-the-scenes work of creating a diorama, and allows you to share the story of the animals and plants within your own mini diorama.
Explore NHM's diverse array of special exhibitions, permanent collections, programs and events, and nature gardens!
1:30pm - 2:00pm
Families gather on the NHM South Steps, board buses, and depart.
